Thanks Robbie. Yes I tend to agree that we are a long way off from any major advancement in this area. But there have been amazing tools made available to chronically ill patients as far as self treatment and monitoring a disease such as heart problems and diabetes.

With online medical records and access to more information from anywhere in the world, I think we could see the more advanced home treatment systems start to take shape very soon.

This is a good starting point but missing some key ideas. I think as things like medical records go virtual, it will make treatment much easier from hospital to hospital and doctor to doctor. I think we are a long way from any big changes in “self-treatment”.

I see your point on how the spread of and access to information is a valuable thing. But self-diagnosis is still in its infancy.
